Wedding Weekend

I was thrilled when one of my life-long closest girlfriends, Mandy Shannon, asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding this year. It always amazes me how you work and think about a wedding for so long to plan it and then before you can blink your eyes its over. We had a busy weekend...starting with my drive to Frankfort on Thursday night...but it was so much fun. We got our nails done on Friday morning, then the bridesmaid luncheon at the Holly Hill Inn in Midway...then Rehearsal, Rehearsal dinner on Friday night. Saturday was of course the big day and we had mimosas while we got our hair done that morning and then the chaos began! ha ha

The wedding turned out perfectly. Mandy was a gorgeous bride and Matt looked very handsome. Its always good to go "home" to Kentucky and see everyone. I really miss it there sometimes and I always forget how beautiful the horse parks are until I am back for a visit. I can't wait to hear how the honeymoon cruise goes and see all the photographers pictures. All in all, a great weekend.

Getting my Feet Wet...

I have given in... So many have told me about the world as a "blogger" and although I have enjoyed reading other people's blogs I have never had much of a desire to do my own. However, today as I was sitting at work and taking a break looking through my friend's page I thought about how relieving it is to put things in writing for me and I thought I might give it a chance. The hardest part is getting the blog to look the way I want and after that I can have a place to type anything that comes to mind!

A lot has been changing in my life lately...mostly good things, but change in itself is an adjustment. I am now a home-owner...which is both exciting and scary. I have gotten a pretty big promotion at work...also exciting and scary...and I am slowly learning what its like to truly be a "single girl in Knoxville" after a very long serious relationship.

I think that God is trying to tell me that he is giving me a new and fresh start in life. And as scary as that can be, I am enjoying it most of the time. Sometimes I think my life before had gotten somewhat "cluttered" of unneccesary junk and although all of the changes were difficult and definitely stressful...it has been worth it to be able to get this new start.

So, here I am...a new blogger...ready to "get my feet wet" at the new adventures that will come my way.
