First Weekend Visitors

I haven't blogged in a while...but a couple of weeks ago I had my very first weekend visitors at my new condo!! My brother and his family came and stayed with me all weekend. The best part of the weekend was Sunday morning. We all got up early and went to the Pancake Pantry in Gatlinburg! This is a tradition that was started when Adam and I were little and our grandparents and parents would take us. I don't care what anyone says...the best breakfast in the world is at the Pancake Pantry. Carson and Callie loved their pancakes and we didn't even have to stand in line a long time to get in!! It was a great ending to a fun weekend.

40 Hours of my Week

Do you ever sit back and think about the fact that a full-time employee spends the majority of their week at their office? As I am sitting here right now, I am thinking about the fact that the people I work with and the faces I see every day here at the bank are the ones that I see more often then just about anyone else! So why do I feel like I am sometimes at my worst at work??

How many times have I had a "bad day" because of something that happened here? A LOT. Why would I want to be seen that often in a bad mood? I have decided that I am starting fresh with a new attitude about work. If I am going to have to be here for a while (which I will...especially now with a new mortgage!!) then I am going to make the best of it. I am going to put on a smiling face and no matter what my day brings I am going to try to be in a good mood!

So...here is my new "happy place" in my life... where I will be a happy co-worker, manager, and employee to Clayton Bank and Trust...

Oh Beautiful...for Spacious Skies...

Well the Fourth of July has come and gone again...and all the fun that is involved. My parents and I took the trip down to Columbia, South Carolina to see my brother and his family for the holiday. As always, the girls were tons of fun and as Callie gets older its funnier and funnier to see how the two of them interact with each other. We also got to meet the new family pet, a kitten named Despereaux, that is TERRIFIED of Callie. (However, Callie loves "Bess-bro" as she says it)

We spent Saturday going to South Carolina's state capitol, or the "State House" as they call it there, eating lunch, and shopping...then later grilling out and shooting fireworks. It was tons of fun and always a great time seeing the girls. They definitely make me realize how LONG it will be before I have kids :) But I love them tons just the same...

Wedding Weekend

I was thrilled when one of my life-long closest girlfriends, Mandy Shannon, asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding this year. It always amazes me how you work and think about a wedding for so long to plan it and then before you can blink your eyes its over. We had a busy weekend...starting with my drive to Frankfort on Thursday night...but it was so much fun. We got our nails done on Friday morning, then the bridesmaid luncheon at the Holly Hill Inn in Midway...then Rehearsal, Rehearsal dinner on Friday night. Saturday was of course the big day and we had mimosas while we got our hair done that morning and then the chaos began! ha ha

The wedding turned out perfectly. Mandy was a gorgeous bride and Matt looked very handsome. Its always good to go "home" to Kentucky and see everyone. I really miss it there sometimes and I always forget how beautiful the horse parks are until I am back for a visit. I can't wait to hear how the honeymoon cruise goes and see all the photographers pictures. All in all, a great weekend.

Getting my Feet Wet...

I have given in... So many have told me about the world as a "blogger" and although I have enjoyed reading other people's blogs I have never had much of a desire to do my own. However, today as I was sitting at work and taking a break looking through my friend's page I thought about how relieving it is to put things in writing for me and I thought I might give it a chance. The hardest part is getting the blog to look the way I want and after that I can have a place to type anything that comes to mind!

A lot has been changing in my life lately...mostly good things, but change in itself is an adjustment. I am now a home-owner...which is both exciting and scary. I have gotten a pretty big promotion at work...also exciting and scary...and I am slowly learning what its like to truly be a "single girl in Knoxville" after a very long serious relationship.

I think that God is trying to tell me that he is giving me a new and fresh start in life. And as scary as that can be, I am enjoying it most of the time. Sometimes I think my life before had gotten somewhat "cluttered" of unneccesary junk and although all of the changes were difficult and definitely stressful...it has been worth it to be able to get this new start.

So, here I am...a new blogger...ready to "get my feet wet" at the new adventures that will come my way.
